Alignment is Half the Battle

Golfdirt QuicktipFor most of us, the ball doesn’t go where we think it’s going to go. That’s a given. Hearing complaints from golfers about their unreliable swings that cause all those wayward shots is very, very common. But even more common are the number of players I see who don’t take the effort to aim their shots properly — a quick cursory glance before they rapidly set up to begin their swing is more the typical duffer’s M.O.

What makes this interesting is that there doesn’t seem to be all that much to properly aiming beyond getting one’s body and clubface lined up correctly (for body alignment, this “train” tip has been the biggest help).

Not that this guarantees that this’ll get the ball where you’re aiming, but if you’re lined up well and the ball goes elsewhere, then at least you know aim’s not the problem, eh?
